Come out into the forest and explore nature with your children. What will you find on the 1.2 km loop? Children feel good about staying active and nature offers things to explore everywhere. Here we have marked a small loop where we also have quite a few animals and figures to be found. Also take the opportunity to take a closer look at what is found in nature. An adventure for them a little smaller. Suitable for children 3-9 years old but also something that the whole family appreciates.

Forest bathing is not about "bathing" in its original sense, but about bathing our senses in the forest. Choose a good place where you will be disturbed as little as possible. Sit down or lie down comfortably. Allow each sense one at a time to enjoy the tranquil surroundings. What do you see? Then close your eyes and listen to the forest and animal life, let your nose pick up the different scents and feel the different things around you. Be quiet and let the forest talk to you.
If you come from an everyday life with a lot of impressions, you can now instead be in the present and take in one impression at a time.
Run in the forest on our hiking trails and your run will get more variety and your whole body will work harder. Sometimes it can get monotonous when you run on asphalt or an electric light track. Trail running is the opposite, where something happens along the way, so it's no longer just about getting to the finish line, but the round itself becomes an adventure.
When running in the forest it is good to consider that there is more going up and down, so adjust your pace according to the gradient and don't expect to be able to keep the same pace as on a road. It is also nice to take a slightly shorter basic step so you can more easily adapt to what is under your feet.
Get around the scenic Dalsland with your bicycle. Cozy dirt roads that you have to yourself or winding small country roads with little traffic with cozy surroundings of forests, fields and lakes.
10 km from the campsite there are marked MTB trails starting from Granan. Cycling from us is suitable for both families with children and you as an experienced cyclist.
Those of you who live with us can lock up your bike overnight in our bike storage and handy place for bike washing.

On a cozy path in the forest that starts with us, you can go on our guided walk. Challenge each other or yourself. Are you sitting on that knowledge and experience to get everyone right?

Take a walk in slightly easier terrain. Fits nicely when you go out with the dog or just get out and exercise. We have a loop of 1km, but then there are also small gravel roads with hardly any traffic that are great for walking
Take shelter or spend the night in one of the two shelters in the Kroppefjäll nature reserve. Here you will also find barbecue areas that are perfect for a lunch stop in the forest.
There is also a barbecue area in the Ragnerudsjöns Branter nature reserve and two barbecue areas on the beach with us.
Experience the tranquility of Lake Ragnerudsjön. Rent a canoe, kayak, SUP or rowing boat.

Fishing is fine in Lake Ragnerudsjön. Enjoy the peace that fishing gives you. You can both fish from shore or rent a boat from us so you can find the really good spots. In Ragnerudsjön you mostly catch perch and pike on the hook. But you can also get lucky with bream, bream, tench, roach, norwegian bream, white bream and eel.
It is a fishing association that runs the fishing in the lake. So important that you sign a fishing license as this is a non-profit association so they can continue fishing. You can easily buy a fishing license with Swish or on the fishing association's website.

Take a short walk along the western side of the lake and you will come to yet another swimming area. At this bathing area there is a bathing jetty and a jumping tower.
In our area, it is also of course nice to swim. There is a bathing beach and bathing jetty. This is also where you rent the various boats.
You can do these different activities with us in the area in addition to that in the forest and on the lake.
With a view of the lake
Enjoy our sauna and the wonderful nature that Dalsland offers outside the window. You can choose between making an appointment per person or group booking. You have the sauna to yourself both with timed and group bookings.
Outside the sauna, you can cool off in Ragnerudsjön or it may be enough to just enjoy the view.
The sauna is electrically heated and holds 6-8 people (for the best experience). There is a small changing room in the sauna cabin and a shower is in the service house. The sauna was built in 2020.
RESERVE the sauna in the RECEPTION
In the area there is a mini golf course with 12 holes. It has a good variety of holes and difficulty. The course is suitable for the whole family, where some holes offer a chance for a nail, while others are a bit rougher. Obstacles in different designs and degrees of difficulty. The track was built in 2017.
Challenge your loved ones and maybe ask for an ice cream in the kiosk for the winner.

With us, all ages can play on our playground located on the premises. Here there are slides, swings, climbing frames, trampolines, cable car, carousel, etc.
All this is comfortably secluded on the edge of the area and surrounded by a playful forest that we ourselves think is the best playground for creating imaginative play.

One of the most beautiful waterways in Europe. In front of you lies 26 miles of navigable waterway through the large, nature-rich lake system that forms Dalsland's canal, from Köpmannebro in the south to Östervallsskog in the north. Welcome to one of Sweden's most lake-rich areas. A labyrinth of large and small lakes, rivers and idyllic, winding canal stumps. Only one mile is dug or blasted channel. The rest is a 24-mile long navigable lake system where you hardly need to crowd.
A trip with one of our canal boats takes you through this particular cultural heritage. A fantastic nature mixed with industrial history, there is always something to look out for. Then we must not forget to tell you about all the locks you pass and the unique aqueduct in Håverud. We operate through 16 of 32 locks during our day trips.

A parrot in the spruce forest as they say themselves. An old mill that has been taken care of and now houses several small players and producers. With an extraordinary bakery, a cozy café and several different small producers and artists. Take a trip here and stroll around and enjoy lots of solid crafts.

A spectacular meeting between road, rail and waterway. The aqueduct in Håverud is one of the most visited attractions in Dalslands. Here is a piece of history that should be experienced on site. There is also a museum, food, cafe and accommodation here.

The museum where contemporary art meets nature.
Beautifully located on a hill in Upperud, is Dalsland's art museum. The long red museum building blends in well with the old working environment. The building was designed by architect Kjell Bandgren. The museum was opened in 1995 and initiated by antiques dealer Sten Torstensson, whose collection formed the basis for the new museum. Today, the museum shows, in addition to its permanent collection, a number of different exhibitions of contemporary art during the period March to November.

Halmens Hus is located on Majberget in Bengtsfors with a fantastic view of forests and lakes. Here, all year round, you can see our basic exhibition which tells about why straw has gained so much importance in Dalsland. With tradition as a foundation and with its sights set on the future, Halmens Hus works to preserve the knowledge and technology surrounding straw and at the same time find new exciting ways to use the material. There are also temporary exhibitions, courses, lectures, concerts and other events here.
